The Smith Institute’s Affordable Housing Commission published a report into measures and defintions of housign affordability.
This Affordable Housing Commission report examines how best to define and measure housing affordability. After examining the main ways of measuring affordability it sets out a set of measures to capture affordability for renters, homeowners and would-be buyers. Using this measure the report finds that 4.8m households have affordability issues and examines how this has changed over time.
