The Institute engages with senior policymakers and practitioners to enrich our research but also to help disseminate our findings and recommendations. We also engage with the public and local communities, mainly via opinion polling, focus groups and interviews.
The Smith Institute is experienced in organising seminar and conference discussions with high-level panellists and audiences to discuss public issues and recommended reforms. The Institute also hosts smaller roundtable events to spark a more in-depth dialogue and discussion. We also hold such events virtually and have experience with webinars and video meetings.
The Institute regularly attends all the political party conferences, engaging with politicians across the political spectrum on important policy challenges. Our staff speak at events and conferences, write blogs, and articles and contribute to the media.
The Institute face-to-face engagement is supplemented by our media presence. Through social, print and broadcast media the Institute can reach a much wider audience to raise awareness of policy issues and highlight our recommendations for change.
